Chief Justice's office moves to debunk fraudulent anti-immigration declaration

The Office of the Chief Justice has dismissed a fake social media “official declaration” attributed to Chief Justice Mandisa Maya, warning that the document is fraudulent, misleading, and designed to misinform the public. The circulating notice falsely claims to ban a planned 30 June protest against foreign nationals and carries a forged signature and image of the Chief Justice. The OCJ has urged the public to ignore and stop sharing the false statement, reaffirming that no such declaration has been issued by the Judiciary.
