Woman dies after withdrawing assault case against ex, family alleges poisoning

A grieving family from Shakashead, KwaDukuza, is calling for the arrest of a man they believe poisoned his former partner after she withdrew an assault case against him. The family alleges that the suspect lured 29-year-old Noxolo Gumede back to his home under the guise of reconciliation before she fell gravely ill and later died in hospital. Police have confirmed that a case has been opened and investigations into the cause of her death are ongoing.
