Leh - Ladakh to develop ten model border hamlets: Ladakh Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena

Leh-Ladakh is developing ten model border villages. The first, Chumur, has begun construction of climate-resilient homes with homestay facilities. This initiative aims for self-reliance and economic growth in high-altitude areas. The project will boost local livelihoods, promote Pashmina products, and strengthen border settlements. Development is expected by September 2026.
