India-B'desh ties | MEA opens up on India-Bangladesh’s agreement on water sharing

India has reiterated its commitment to working closely with Bangladesh on issues related to shared rivers through established bilateral mechanisms. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India and Bangladesh share 54 rivers and have a Joint Rivers Commission dedicated to addressing concerns involving these transboundary waterways. According to the MEA, all matters related to river management, water sharing, flood control, and other water-related challenges are discussed through structured bilateral collaboration.
