U.S. job openings jumped in April as the labor market looked resilient despite economic uncertainty caused by the Iran war

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that available employment hit 7.6 million for the month, a surge of 731,000 from the prior month.

The reading was much higher than anticipated. Most economists were expecting job openings to remain about static, not increase.
