The 3,300-year-old Gessel gold hoard: One of Europe’s largest Bronze Age treasures discovered

The Gold Hoard of Gessel is considered one of the most spectacular archaeological findings from all of Europe. Discovered not far from Gessel, near Syke in northwestern Germany, the hoard of gold objects dates back some 3,300 years, or around 1300 BC, and represents one of the biggest Bronze Age gold hoards found in Europe to date.
