Chilling bodycam footage shows Henry Nowak telling police officers, "I've been stabbed" while being handcuffed. Footage released by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary shows an officer at the scene asking: “What’s your name, mate?” before Mr Nowak, who is lying on his back on the ground, faintly replies: “Henry.” Digwa, 23, then claims Mr Nowak took his turban off and grabbed him by the hair. The officer asks Digwa if he is injured, to which Digwa says he is. Mr Nowak repeats “I’ve been stabbed” and then “I can’t breathe” while he is made to sit up to be handcuffed. He was told he was being arrested for assault. An officer asks: “You’ve been stabbed, whereabouts?” before adding: “Don’t think you have, mate.” Digwa, 23, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years for stabbing Mr Nowak with a ceremonial knife with a 21cm blade that prosecutors said was a kirpan, which he carried as part of his Sikh religion.
