Toronto Chief of Police Myron Demkiw said the force has laid 30 hate propaganda charges since October 7, 2023.

The arrests stem from a demonstration at Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West on March 15.

Toronto Chief of Police Myron Demkiw said the force has laid 30 hate propaganda charges since October 7, 2023.

The posters allegedly displayed or distributed at a March 15 protest by the suspects included a Jewish man with the body of an insect, and caricatures of Jews and Israelis.

The incident was preceded a week before by an assault in which three identifiable Jewish residents were walking and were shot at with a gel pellet gun, inflicting minor injuries.

“These incidents appear to have been organized and planned, with more than one individual involved in their co-ordination,” said Stephenson.
