Career-fulfillment necessary, ‘not sufficient’ to retain oncology workforce

CHICAGO — Oncologists derive meaning and identity from their career, but continue to experience persistent structural pressures and intent to leave practice, findings from the ongoing global survey presented at ASCO Annual Meeting showed. Of note, more than 25% of oncologists surveyed expressed regret about pursuing a career in oncology.
