In a Truth Social post he insisted Tehran “really wanted to make a deal” and suggested Americans “just sit back and relax.”Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it targeted a US air base, claiming it was used in a prior US attack on a telecoms tower on Sirik Island. This Iranian action followed US “self-defence strikes” on Iranian radar and drone control sites over the weekend, in response to what the US called “aggressive” actions from Tehran. US Central Command reported that Iran had shot down a US MQ-1 drone operating in international waters. Meanwhile, oil prices jumped more than 2 per cent as negotiations continued.
