Die Mannschaft sollte in Mexiko ihre Vorbereitung auf das Turnier aufnehmen.Der Verband arbeite „rund um die Uhr“ daran, die Anreise der Mannschaft nach Mexiko-Stadt so schnell wie möglich sicherzustellen. Dort bestreitet Südafrika am 11. Juni gegen Co-Gastgeber Mexiko das WM-Eröffnungsspiel. Bis zur Abreise wird das Team weiter in Johannesburg trainieren.
