DAMASCUS: Technical teams at Syria’s Euphrates Dam have begun closing a spillway gate to manage water levels along the Euphrates River following a decline in water inflows from Turkiye, the Ministry of Energy has announced. The single gate was releasing about 300 cubic meters of water per second prior to the closure. With the gate closed, the total water discharged through the Euphrates Dam will be scaled back to about 1,400 cubic meters per second.
