45 killed in fires in Delhi so far in 2026, March deadliest month: Data

Delhi has recorded 45 fire deaths between January and May 27 this year. May alone saw 13 fatalities. March was the deadliest month with 15 deaths. Fire calls surged significantly in summer months, especially in May. Garbage fires are a major concern. Officials attribute the rise in cases to hot and dry weather conditions.
