Nigeria’s central bank has relaxed its PoS geo-fencing rule, expanding the operating radius for agents from 10 metres to 70 metres

The Central Bank of Nigeria has extended the PoS geo-fencing enforcement deadline to August 1, 2026, giving institutions more time to comply.

In its circular on Friday, the CBN also directed all affected institutions to provide evidence of compliance ahead of the new enforcement deadline, 31 July.
