Polling begins in final phase of Himachal panchayat elections; over 15 lakh voters to cast ballots

80% turnout in Himachal panchayat phase 2 polls; women outnumber men

Himachal Pradesh recorded 80% voter turnout in the second phase of panchayat elections across 1,276 gram panchayats, up from 76% in the same phase in 2021. Women outvoted men at 82.76% vs. 76.47% across nine of twelve districts, with Kullu leading at 86% overall turnout.
