Prince Hisahito of Japan has made his imperial state banquet debut, five years after his sister relinquished her royal duties. On Wednesday (27 May), the 19-year-old attended his first diplomatic dinner at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, where he helped welcome President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines and his wife, first lady Liza Araneta-Marco. Footage shows the young royal sat at the dinner table next to Princess Aiko, daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako. It comes after his sister, Mako, surrendered her royal status to marry her longtime love and former classmate, Kei Komuro in 2021.
