The use of private e-scooters remains illegal in public spaces, and the government plans to consult on updated regulations and has launched a new road safety strategy aiming to reduce deaths and serious injuries by 65 per cent by 2035. The RAC highlighted that little progress has been made in reducing road harm, with an average of four people still losing their lives on British roads daily.
