Israel resumed striking Beirut's southern suburbs on Thursday for the first time in three weeks.

The Israeli army intensified strikes in southern Lebanon on Monday, as two far-right Israeli ministers called for escalation including attacks on Lebanese capital Beirut.

The escalation comes as Lebanon and Israel prepare for talks between military delegations in the US.

More than a dozen explosions rocked Beirut, witnesses said, in the most intensive strikes on the southern suburbs since a war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2024.
