India, China hold ‘forward-looking’ talks at WMCC meet in Beijing; prepare for SR dialogue

India and China held the 35th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) in Beijing, where both sides reviewed the situation along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. The discussions were described as “constructive” and “forward-looking,” with the MEA stating that peace and tranquillity along the border is helping gradual normalisation of bilateral ties. The talks focused on border management, cross-border cooperation and diplomatic coordination, while both countries also agreed to prepare for the next Special Representatives dialogue in China.
