Deported St Catherine man to stand trial for 2020 killing

A St Catherine man charged with the fatal stabbing of another man in 2020 is to stand trial in the on June 11, after a judge ruled he has a case to answer. The accused, Arion Beckford, otherwise called ‘Yaw Yaw’, is charged in connection with the death of 37-year-old labourer Jevaughn Powell of Old Road, Thompson Pen, Spanish Town in the parish. Parish Court Judge Courtney Maxwell made the ruling when the matter was mentioned on Wednesday. He will stand trial in the St Catherine Circuit Court.
