FIFA is facing an investigation in the US after fans accused organisers of misleading ticket buyers and fuelling sky-high prices for World Cup matches at New York’s MetLife Stadium

New York Attorney General Letitia James and New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport sent FIFA subpoenas regarding their ticketing practices on Wednesday.

The attorneys general said they plan to probe “a range of issues that have arisen with FIFA’s ticketing process."

New Jersey's attorney general said FIFA turned ticket-buying "into a gauntlet of confusion, fake scarcity, and impossibly high prices."
