WASHINGTON, May 27 : The attorneys general of New York and New Jersey on Wednesday said they have issued a subpoena to FIFA over its ticketing practices after recent press reports raised concerns about fans' seat locations, the state officials said in a statement.

New York Attorney General Letitia James and New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport sent FIFA subpoenas regarding their ticketing practices on Wednesday.

The ticketing controversy surrounding World Cup games has grabbed the attention of two influential law enforcement officials

“Being honest about ticket sales is not complicated,” New Jersey attorney general Jennifer Davenport said.

New Jersey's attorney general said FIFA turned ticket-buying "into a gauntlet of confusion, fake scarcity, and impossibly high prices."
