The former Scottish first minister and SNP leader has said she had 'no knowledge' that personal items were purchased by Peter Murrell, her ex-partner, with SNP funds.

Peter Murrell, the estranged husband of former Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon, has pleaded guilty to embezzling over 400,000 pounds from the Scottish National Party.

The 61-year-old, who was SNP chief executive for 22 years, is behind bars after admitting his guilt at the High Court in Edinburgh this morning.
