In the latest episode of the BBC genealogy series on Tuesday (26 May), the presenter became emotional as she learnt about the life of her grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Minto, who suffered with depression. Minto, the mother of Ball’s late mother, Julia, was committed to a psychiatric hospital with “acute mania” after she was put on trial for shoplifting. Reading out a letter from Minto to Julia after she had been released from a hospital, Ball became teary. “Bless her heart. I’m so relieved that she was okay again.”
