A meteor flew through the sky right next to an erupting volcano in the Philippines. Webcam footage from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Monday (26 May) shows the flash of the meteor fall as the Mayon volcano was experiencing a low-level eruption. In a Facebook post accompanying the video, the institute said its “review of seismic, infrasound, and additional camera footage around the volcano indicates that the meteor disintegrated while in the atmosphere and did not strike the slopes of Mayon.”

State volcanologists on Monday night shared footage of a meteor striking one of the slopes of Mayon Volcano amid its ongoing volcanic activity.

Fenômeno foi registrado por câmeras de monitoramento nesta segunda-feira (25). Órgão de vulcanologia disse que objeto se desintegrou antes de atingir o vulcão.
