The hiring spree comes as the coffee chain said Friday that 80 new store locations would be added across Canada this year — and as American chain Dunkin' plans a re-entrance into the Canadian market. Tim Hortons says the moves are part of a wider long-term investment, but a marketing expert says leaning into Canadian connection would be a smart move.

The company plans to recruit 10,000 local workers in Canada. It currently employs some 4,000 temporary foreign workers.
