The United States said that parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) failed to reach consensus on a final document at the conclusion of the 2026 Review Conference, blaming disagreements over Iran’s nuclear activities for the outcome.

A four-week conference at the United Nations to review the treaty to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons has ended without an agreement.

There was no consensus among the 191 parties to the NPT, the third failure in a row at a conference reviewing the treaty.
