A bipartisan group of U.S. senators urged Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a May 23 letter to release a previously approved $400 million aid package for Ukraine that has been delayed for months.

A bipartisan group of senators is pushing back on delays by the Department of Defense in sending roughly $600 million in security aid to Ukraine and other allies in eastern Europe.

Hegseth told lawmakers three weeks ago the Ukraine funding had been ‘released’ and a spending plan would soon be sent to lawmakers, but he’s failed to make the May 15 deadline
