A man was caught eating a takeaway off a police car before he ripped off its wing mirror. CCTV footage shared by City of London Police shows Adam Bachir-Belmehdi, 21, placing his food on the car’s bonnet so he could eat it, before he began vandalising the vehicle. Officers were on the scene within seconds as the CCTV directly fed into the City of London Police’s control room. The vehicle was taken out of action for five days whilst it was repaired. On Monday (18 May), Bachir-Belmehdi of McGrath Roadi was ordered to pay £200 in compensation, a £480 fine, £85 costs to the CPS and a £192 surcharge.

Adam Bachir-Belmehdi, 21, was convicted of causing criminal damage after he was caught on CCTV outside London's Bishopsgate Police Station in the early hours of May 3.
