National Bank of Kenya has reported a Sh1.03 billion profit after tax for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, driven by net interest income and a reduction in credit impairment charges.

Growth majorly driven by growth in interest-earning assets and a drop in interest expense.

The tier-one lender said profit after tax rose to Sh6 billion in the three months to March 31, up from Sh5.5 billion a year earlier.
