Trump affirms US commitment to Gulf security in letter to Bahraini ruler

LONDON: US President Donald Trump emphasized Washington’s commitment to ensuring security and stability in the Gulf region in a letter to King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain. The US leader also expressed admiration for Bahrain’s national unity in response to Iran’s violations of international law, the Bahrain News Agency reported. Bahraini air defenses have intercepted and destroyed at least 188 ballistic missiles and 477 drones launched from Iran since the start of the US and Israel military campaign against the Tehran regime on Feb. 28.
