Offspring of mothers with higher gestational weight gain faced heightened odds for asthma, rhinitis and allergic sensitization in childhood/adolescence, according to data published in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. Researchers also found reduced odds for eczema in offspring of mothers with overweight/obesity vs. underweight/normal weight before pregnancy.
