The overheating unit can cause vehicles to fail to start or enter a reduced-power mode, potentially leading to localized thermal damage. Tesla recently recalled 173 2024-2026 Cybertrucks because cracking in the rotor could cause the wheel stud to separate from the wheel hub, increasing the risk of a crash. For the Cybertruck recall, Tesla will replace the front and rear brake rotors, hubs, and lug nuts with more durable parts at no cost to owners. Tesla is also recalling over 200,000 Model Y, Model S, Model X, and Model 3 electric vehicles due to a software issue that can temporarily disable the rearview camera.
