The overheating unit can cause vehicles to fail to start or enter a reduced-power mode, potentially leading to localized thermal damage. Tesla recently recalled 173 2024-2026 Cybertrucks because cracking in the rotor could cause the wheel stud to separate from the wheel hub, increasing the risk of a crash. For the Cybertruck recall, Tesla will replace the front and rear brake rotors, hubs, and lug nuts with more durable parts at no cost to owners.
