Tata Steel UK wins exemption from US steel tariff rules

Tata Steel UK has received a special exemption from US tariffs. This allows steel processed in Britain to be exported to America at a lower duty rate. The exemption applies even though the raw materials are sourced from overseas. This arrangement is in place as Tata Steel UK transitions to new electric-arc furnace production at its Port Talbot plant.
