Government and public transport operators suspend matatu strike for one week to allow high-level negotiations to conclude by May 26, Interior CS Murkomen says.

The government and matatu operators have failed to reach an agreement on fuel price adjustments after closed-door talks on diesel cuts and kerosene parity.

The talks however did not yield any fruits with the owners insisting that the strike would go on since their demands were not met.
