The public health measures announced by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention come as the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo an international health emergency.

The agency plans to deploy additional staff to the affected countries and will provide technical support.

Travel to the U.S. from Uganda, Congo or South Sudan is being impacted by an ongoing Ebola outbreak.
