The man's body was discovered by a passer-by on the Paseo Nuevo coastal walkway around 11am on Friday. Emergency services attended the scene, but the man was pronounced dead, and a ladder truck was used to access his body. The Basque police, Ertzaintza, have launched an investigation into the incident, and the body has been taken for an autopsy. This is not the first fatal fall at Mount Urgull; a 65-year-old woman died in similar circumstances at the same location in 2019. A British man has died after reportedly falling from a height in northeastern Spain

The unnamed 38-year-old was pronounced dead at around 11am on Saturday after plunging from the slopes of the 400ft Mount Urgull in the Basque city of San Sebastian.
