The Rolling Stones musician was supported by other celebrities, including Felicity Kendal, Eric Clapton, and Harry Hill, in his fight against the 100m building. Proposals for 110 luxury flats were initially rejected by Wandsworth Council and the Greater London Authority in 2025.A planning inspector has now dismissed an appeal by developers Rockwell Property, ruling that the project would be detrimental to the local area's appearance and heritage. The inspector said that the building would cause a “dramatic change to the skyline” and appear “alien and isolated”, a decision Rockwell Property expressed disappointment over.
