Police crush more than 200 motorcycles in crackdown on illegal vehicles
Around 200 motorcycles have been crushed in a New York City Police Department (NYPD) crackdown on illegal vehicles, police footage released on Wednesday (13 May) shows. The department said more than 5,700 of the illegal vehicles had been seized so far in 2026. “The NYPD is crushing it when it comes to taking illegal mopeds and scooters off our streets,” the department wrote on X. Footage showed the motorcycles being crushed between two bulldozers as a small crowd watched on.
