The EU is considering a ban on social media for children, EU President Ursula Von der Leyen said at a summit on artificial intelligence and children.

"We are investigating platforms that allow children to go down "rabbit holes" of harmful content," EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Tuesday.

She told an EU summit that an expert panel was due to come up with steps on how to protect minors online by July.
