President Donald Trump said he wants to suspend the federal tax on gasoline amid soaring energy prices during the United States war with Iran.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright said Sunday the Trump administration is "open" to suspending the federal gasoline tax as prices surge amid the Iran War.

Average gas prices have soared by more than 50% since the start of the Iran war.

President Donald Trump has proposed suspending the federal gas tax, but it would require an act by Congress.
