Trump rants about transgender weightlifter to child

Donald Trump ranted about transgender people in sports to youngsters during an Oval Office event to relaunch the presidential fitness test. After a lengthy event which touched on numerous child-unfriendly topics including the bombing of Iran, ‘rigged’ elections’ and the killing of protesters, the president eventually turned to the youngsters surrounding his desk and asked what sports they played. After hearing one young man say he planned to take up powerlifting in the future, Trump asked if he would compete against women, to which the boy replied “no”. Trump then launched into his well-worn tale of a transgender powerlifter who “took a record, stood for eighteen years. He beat it by a hundred and nineteen pounds.”
