A bakery truck was hit by a United Airlines plane as it was coming into land at Newark Airport in New Jersey. United Airlines flight 169 from Venice, Italy, struck a pole and the tractor-trailer from Bakers Express on the New Jersey Turnpike as it came in for touchdown at 2pm on Sunday (April 3). The Boeing 767-400 managed to land safely at Newark Liberty with no reports of injuries on board. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has subsequently been released. The National Transportation Safety Board has opened an investigation into the incident.
