ONS says sales up by 0.7% in March, spurred by big rise in fuel purchases and sunny weather helping retailers

Retail sales rose by 1.7% in March mostly due to high gas prices from the ongoing conflict with Iran. Gas station sales were boosted by the war.

Fuel prices saw their largest increase for over three years, the ONS' chief economist said.
