This is the moment a gunman on one of the historic Teotihuacan pyramids opened fire on tourists in Mexico on Monday (20 April), killing a Canadian woman and leaving at least 13 injured. Footage shows a man, later identified as 27-year-old Julio Cesar Jasso of Mexico, standing with a gun on top of a pyramid as people duck for cover. Jasso was the sole assailant in the attack, the State of Mexico government confirmed on Monday night. He later died from a self-inflicted wound, authorities said. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said in a post on X: “What happened today in Teotihuacan pains us deeply. I express my deepest sympathy to those affected and their families.“
