President Donald Trump has requested that Congress increase the Pentagon's budget by $1.5 trillion and cuts to domestic programs on Friday.

The US president's new budget would cut non-defence spending by 10%, partly by slashing domestic programmes.

The request for defence spending is the largest in decades and accompanies cuts to domestic programmes.

"To pay for his endless wars, he wants the biggest increase to military spending in 70 years," said Rep. Greg Casar. "Hell no."
