A strong magnitude-7.6 undersea earthquake struck early Thursday off the northwest coast of Indonesia's eastern Ternate volcanic island, killing at least one person, officials said.

The quake had depth of 35km and its epicentre was 127km (79 miles) west-north-west of Ternate in Northern Molucca Sea region

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake off Indonesia's coast kills one, triggers tsunami warning, later lifted as aftershocks follow.
