Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has slammed National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent’s claim that Iran posed “no imminent threat”. On Tuesday (17 March), Mr Kent said he could not “in good conscience” support Donald Trump’s decision to take the US to war with Iran and resigned from his post. Reacting to Mr Kent’s comments on Fox News, Mr Bongino said that the US president has a “bevy of material” that he believes proves otherwise. "I read probably a lot more intelligence than he did,” Mr Bongino claimed, before listing reasons he believes made Tehran a danger. "That's called evidence. In some limited circles, we call that a clue," he said.

"Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation," Kent wrote in his letter to President Donald Trump.

National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent says Trump "started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby".
