An artifact called the 'talking drum' or 'Djidji Ayôkwé,' the first relic France has officially given back to Côte d'Ivoire, arrived in Abidjan on Friday. After a period of acclimatization, it will go on display at the Museum of Civilizations in April.

The move forms part of a broader process of returning cultural artefacts to African countries that started in 2017.

Djidji Ayôkwé was handed to Ivorian officials in Paris earlier this month
