A bill to increase housing supply and decrease costs is set to sail through the Senate on Thursday, but House leaders foresee further negotiations.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren worked with Republicans to pass the bill. "We need more housing of every kind," she said. "More, more, and more."

The Senate passed a bipartisan bill aimed at tackling housing affordability, but it will need to be reconciled with GOP priorities in the House.

“Banning a small piece of the market does nothing to solve for the actual affordability challenges facing people who want to buy a house,” rental economist Jay Parsons said.
